I personally know of several families who have exhausted their benefits at least 2 weeks before their next scheduled allotment. Unreasonably high food costs should have been an automatic YES from Mayor Bowser. It would be a great thing if she would invest in partnerships with local farmers, especially as the quality of “fresh” food is spiraling downward.
